Sir Tumu Te Heuheu talks about the significance of Tongariro and of korero of the past as guides for our people and mokopuna.
He explains the importance of stories of the old people as they tell us about the journey of their ancestors and how they arrived here. They give us messages also for what we need to do in taking our own journey in terms of our identity and our landscape management responsibilities.
